Dear Best Buy Teach Award Winner,

Congratulations! Your school is one of only 1,300 Best Buy Teach Award Winners! This year we received thousands of applications that show the creativity and commitment of educators throughout the United States. The selection process was extremely competitive and very enlightening. Thank you for taking the time to share with us the exceptional work you are doing in your school.

At Best Buy, we take our commitment to our communities seriously. We know that a strong, healthy community is a great place to live and work. We believe the strength of the community is dependent on the strength of it schools. That’s why Best Buy and the Best Buy Children’s Foundation are dedicated to make learning fun by supporting programs that integrate interactive technology into the K–12 curricula. We launched the Best Buy Teach Award program in October 2003 to recognize schools that creatively use interactive technology to engage their students in the classroom.

I hope the Best Buy Teach Award program will encourage a sense of community spirit between your school and your local Best Buy store. I encourage you to introduce yourself to your Best Buy General Manager, and explore ways your school and your store might work together to share the news of this Best Buy Teach award with your community. This Teach Award packet contains a 128MB USB Flash Drive loaded with several templates you can use as a springboard for garnering recognition for your school’s great work.

We are very interested in the implementation of the programs you proposed. To help us showcase these programs, we ask that you complete a Best Buy Teach Award Report. The form is available online at http://www.bbycommunications.com/cr/teach_award_report.asp. I encourage you to send the completed report back to us, as this information is extremely useful as a measurement of the overall success of the Best Buy Teach Award program.

It is required that the entire award amount be expended for the program stated on your Best Buy Teach Award application and detailed in your requested program budget. Please note: In order to make a tax-free purchase at Best Buy, you must bring a copy of your school’s official certificate of tax exemption. Without it, you will be charged sales tax on your purchase.

On behalf of the Best Buy Teach Award selection committee, please accept my congratulations on your school’s Best Buy Teach award. We are proud to have had the opportunity to learn about the exciting ways you are integrating interactive technology into your curricula. We encourage you to apply for future Best Buy Teach Awards. For information about the next round of applications, please check www.BestBuy.com/Teach. This site will be updated as information is available.
