Creating a Simple Web Page using Microsoft Office 2007

Open Microsoft Office Word 2007.

Create a flyer about an event at your school. It is best to create tables first, this helps in keeping images where you want them.

Insert table, I would suggest three to four columns. this way you can merge or split columns or rows. Create your flyer using your table.  Number of rows 6 or more, but know that you can add more rows with your tab key.

When you are finished with your flyer highlight your table and remove all borders, unless you prefer the borders.  It will depend on how you want your web pages to appear.

To merge columns, highlight columns, click table, click merge cells or use the merge icon on the tables and borders toolbar.

To merge rows, high rows, click table, click merge cells or use the merge icon on the tables and borders toolbar.

To get rid of borders, change the color etc. highlight your table and click your

border icon on the tables and borders toolbar.

Your choices show what borders will show and not show on your webpage.

You can change colors by highlighting tables and click on format, borders and shadings.

To change the size of your table you can drag the lines of columns and/or rows to suit your needs.

Now you will save it as a web page. When saving do not click save as, but save as other documents.

SAVE IN YOUR FOLDER, then save in WebPages folder, save as WordWebpages.html  file type web page.

Open in your web browser, click open, browse for you folder and click on WordWebpages.

Click OK and your webpage will appear.
