 Getting Started-Grand Opening Flyer

Software:  Microsoft Office Word, or Publisher, Clip Art, Paint, and/or Draw

Comments:

You will need to design a flyer  for your new company. It should reflect our company name. It should have something to do with  to do with a grand opening or a sales event.

Instructions:

  1. Be sure to include information so that the customer could find your company, such as a map (which can be created easily in Paintbrush and pasted into your word processing program).
  2. The flyer should be carefully designed, professional in appearance, and should provide a brief description of your merchandise or services.
  3. Be sure to use your logo, slogan and company name. 
  4. The top of the letterhead needs to be in the top 2 inches of the paper.
  5. The bottom needs to be within 1 inch of the bottom of the paper.
  6. Set margins for 1.5 to 2 inches at the top. 1.25 inches on the left and right, 1 inch on the bottom. Adjust the header and footer margins if needed.
  7. Use the decorative font you have been using for the company name in a large font (24-18 points).
  8. On the line(s)underneath or in the footer area use a normal sized font (12-14 points) to write the address, phone number and additional information.
  9. Include a logo or graphic if you can.
  10. Set the size of your drawing area to about 1.5 by 1 inches if possible.
  11. Start drawing or check your clip art and modify it.
  12. Adjust any colors or sizes as needed.
  13. Make any additional adjustments as needed to improve the design of the logo so it is balanced and looks good.
  14. Include your initials in the bottom right of your flyer in really tiny writing.
  15. Save in your business folder.
